In this session, Dr. Dieter will discuss his experience of pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts in Management through the Harvard Extension School at age 50, and how that decision has shaped both his career and personal life in remarkable ways. Please join us for this meaningful reflection on the power of an HES degree, and how to best leverage the HES experience and expansive network.

Please register below, and note registration is limited to the first 25 participants.

Formative Fridays are live, interactive discussions that enable you to connect with other students and build your network while developing skills, strategies, and tools to enhance your work both academically and professionally. This means you are expected to have your cameras on and be prepared to participate in a variety of ways.

Robert Dieter
Professor of Medicine at Loyola University

Dr. Robert S. Dieter is a Professor of Medicine at Loyola University and practices interventional cardiology and vascular medicine at Loyola and Hines VA. He was inducted his junior year of medical school into the national honor’s medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and was his medical school class president at the University of Illinois. Subsequently, he completed two fellowships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology and an additional fellowship at Georgetown University in vascular and endovascular medicine. Dr. Dieter has over 100 published articles, four dozen book chapters, and he has published five textbooks on vascular disease and has written three personal books. At the age of 50, he earned a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Extension School in Management and somewhere along the way, earned a black belt in karate, competed nationally at the black belt level, and helps teach karate. At Harvard he has volunteered with the Extension School, is a recurring guest lecturer, and is a member of the Harvard Christian Alumni Society.
